Violence against Women
|
Violence against women is a human rights issue with tremendous health, social and economic implications.
In order to raise awareness on violence against women and to call for an end to all forms of violence against women and girls, UNRIC invited everyone with creative ideas, including students, professionals in the field and interested members of the general public to create a print advertisement on violence against women. The 'No to Violence Against Women' was launched on 8 March 2011 with the aim of calling for gender equality and an end to all forms of violence against women and girls. This competition will be realised in partnership with UN Women and is part of the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon's UNiTE to End Violence against Women campaign.
The winners of this competition will have their work displayed on the competition website with possibilities of exhibits and placement in European print media.
Mr Paul Magri is participating in this competition in order to create more awareness on violence against women. Mr Magri is participating with the following posters 'The fine line between violence and...' and 'As the world looks on...'.
To support Mr Magri's work in this competition and to help him create more awareness one can vote for him by clicking on the following links before the end of July 2011.
