The Malta-EU Steering & Action Committee (MEUSAC) is calling for proposals from constituted bodies and representative organizations in order to assist such organizations to cover expenses actually incurred during 2008 in order to:

* keep abreast of developments in the European Union;
* enable them to better educate their members about EU matters related to their respective fields of competence; and

Eligible organisations are required to apply to benefit from a share of these funds, in line with the objectives set out above, by writing to the Head, Civil Society Fund Committee, MEUSAC, 280, Republic Street, Valletta VLT 1112, by not later than Friday, 28th November 2008 at noon. Applications must be made using the Application Forms which can be downloaded from this website. The forms must be submitted both in electronic (in Word or PDF Format) and paper format CLICK HERE . Together with the application, eligible organisations are requested to submit their funding proposal that is to include details of all activities carried out during 2008 for which assistance is being sought, together with a detailed breakdown of the actual costs for each activity and for which assistance is being requested. The Committee will inform these organisations of the procedures to be followed. Upon approval of the funding proposal, the grant allocated will be paid subject to the submission of a detailed implementation report and the financial statement, inclusive of original invoices and receipts, within the stipulated deadline, and subsequent approval by the Committee.

The implementation report is to reach the Committee by not later than Tuesday, 9th December 2008 at 9.00 am, failing which, the organisation would lose its right for the grant without further notice.

Organisations eligible for assistance under the CSF are the Social Partners and Voluntary Organisations (VOs), provided that they are established for the specific purpose of meeting needs in the general interest or in the interests of their membership and not having an industrial or commercial character.

Constituted bodies that are already receiving public funding for EU-related activities are not eligible for the Civil Society Fund scheme.

AVVIŻ
Inċentivi għad-Dwal tal-Milied fit-Toroq

14 ta’ Novembru 2008

Il-Korporazzjoni Enemalta tinforma li għat-tieni sena konsekuttiva qed terġa’ titħaddem skema maħsuba li tnaqqas l-ispejjeż għall-konsum ta’ l-elettriku lil dawk l-organizzazzjonijiet li jżejnu t-toroq bi dwal dekorattiv għall-Milied.

Il-Korporazzjoni Enemalta ngħatat direttiva biex kull servizz tav l-elettriku temporanju li jintrama’ għat-tiżjin tat-toroq fil-Milied ikollu fuqu skont ta’ 50% fuq il-konsum ta’ l-elettriku. Dan ifisser li l-konsum tav l-elettriku li ser jintuża għad-dawl tat-toroq fil-Milied se jitħallas b’nofs il-prezz.

Dan hu kontribut li l-Korporazzjoni tqisu bħala responsabbiltà soċjali tagħha. Il-Korporazzjoni tawgura li dan il-kontribut jgħin biex jissebbħu aktar iċ-ċentri kummerċjali tal-bliet u l-irħula fiż-żmien fejn isir l-aktar kummerċ.
