Course in Interior Design & Decorating
|
The Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce will be organizing a course on Interior Design and Decoration. The course will be held between October and December and will be run by Anthony Portelli over ten lessons of two hours each, once a week. It will cover Basic Design Tools, Styles, Colour, Pattern and Texture, Concept Development, the Study of Materials and Inspiration for Design and Design Communication, Theme and Sample Boards, Scale Floor Plan, Perspective Drawing and Model Making. The cost for the whole course is 21 euros.

Influenza Vaccine
|
The Balzan Local Council would like to inform Balzan residents over the age of 55 years that the influenza vaccine will be administered at the Balzan Clinic at a date and time that will be advertised later, for the convenience of residents.
Those persons entitled to the vaccine should register their details with the local council during office hours, Monday - Friday between 8.30am and 12.00pm (noon) until Friday, 10th October 2008.
The vaccine will be provided free of charge.

Making Model Buildings and Landscapes
|
The Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce will be holding a course on building top grade models from readily accessible, cheap, and recycled materials - using basic tools. No prior experience in the field is necessary and the course is “hands-on”, aimed at imparting the necessary skills as well as information to the absolute novice.
The instructor will be Alex Vella, a model maker of long standing who has judged in such world class events as the Euromilitaire in the UK and the Zinnfiguren Modellburse in Germany, as well as in other shows in Italy and the USA.
The evening course will run over 10 lessons of two hours each lesson (once a week) and will start in October at Palazzo de La Salle in Valletta. The course fee is only €21.

Gilding Course
|
The Malta Society of Arts Manufactures and Commerce is organizing a course on Gilding. The Course has two levels, Beginners and Intermediate. The Beginners Course will teach the basics of the art of gilding while the Intermediate will go into more detail regarding various types of gilding.
The course will be held in the evenings and will run over 10 lessons, of two hours each lesson, once a week. The courses will start in April. The course fee is 21 euros.
