Nominations for Gieh Hal Balzan Honours
|
For the 6th time running, the Balzan Local Council is inviting you to nominate persons for the honour Gieh Hal Balzan. The honour, in the form of a gold lapel badge of the Balzan coat-of-arms and a certificate will be presented to those who in the opinion of the adjudicating committee give a good name to Balzan or who contribute to the common good of the locality or who work for balzan residents.
Nomination forms are available from the local council office and must be submitted to the Executive Secretary by not later than noon on Friday, 1st February 2008.
Honours will be presented during Balzan Day Activities.

Karnival 2008
|
Il-Kunsill Lokali Balzan flimkien mas-Sotto-kumitat tal-Attivitajiet u Ndafa sejjer jorganizza Karnival Lokali fil-Pjazza ta’ Ħal Balzan.
Għalhekk il-Kunsill għandu l-ħsieb li jagħmel kumpanija taż-zfin għat-tfal bejn is-7 snin u t-12-il sena. Dawn ser jitgħallmu żifna li biha ser jikkompetu jew jipparteċipaw fil-karnival nazzjonali ġewwa l-main guard, il-Belt Valletta.
Għalhekk min hu interessat li t-tfal tiegħu jieħdu sehem għandu jimla l-formula li tista tinġabar mil-Uffiċċju tal-Iskola Annibale Preca , Triq Robert Mifsud Bonnici , Ħal Lija jew mil-Junior Lyceum St Theresa, Triq B.Bontadini Mrieħel jew inkella mil-Uffiċċju tal-Kunsill Lokali ta’ Ħal Balzan, 153, Triq il-Kbira Balzan

Influenza Vaccine
|
The Balzan Local Council would like to inform Balzan residents over the age of 55 years that the influenza vaccine will be administered at the Balzan Clinic at a date and time that will be advertised later, for the convenience of residents.
Those persons entitled to the vaccine should register their details with the local council during office hours, Monday - Friday between 8.30am and 12.00pm (noon) by not later than Friday, 3rd October 2007.
The vaccine will be provided free of charge.

Course on Portrait and Figure Painting and Drawing
|
The Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce is organizing a course on Portrait and Figure Painting and Drawing. The Course will run over ten sessions, every Thursday, under the professional guidance of well-known artist Eman Grima. The Course will start on 11th October from 5.30 pm to 8 pm. Participation is restricted to a limited number. The participation fee for all ten sessions is Lm30 - EURO 69.88 for Society members and Lm40 - EURO 93.17 for non-members.

Crib Presepju Building Course
|
The Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce with the collaboration of the Ghaqda Hbieb tal-Presepju (Malta) will be organising a ‘Practical Course on Christmas Crib Presepju Building’. The Course will run for ten (10) sessions of 2 hours duration for each session. The Course will be conducted by Mr. Charles Bellia who is the Secretary/PRO of the Ghaqda Hbieb Tal-Presepju (Malta). The Course will start on Saturday 13th October, 2007 at Palazzo De La Salle, 219 Republic Street, Valletta. Participants will learn about the crib in Malta, how to build such cribs, accessories such as buildings, lights, trees, etc and also how to make pasturi. The Course will run for ten (10) sessions and the cost is Lm9 - EUR20.96 for the whole Course.
