Traffic Management
|
 The Malta Transport Authority notifies that as from Wednesday 29th August 2007 Triq Birbal Balzan from corner with Vjal De Paul up to corner withTriq il-Kannizzata will be closed to vehicular traffic until further notice. To this end, the following traffic management arrangements are being implemented for the duration of the works:
Triq il- Kannizzata from corner with Triq Birbal up to corner with Triq il-Ferrovia il-Qadima will be open to two-way vehicular traffic
Triq il- Kbira from corner with Triq il-Wied Hal-Balzan up to Triq San Frangisk will be open to two-way vehicular traffic
Triq il-Kardinal Cardjin will be open to vehicular traffic in the direction towards Triq Birbal
On street parking in Triq il-Kardinal Cardjin will not be permitted
On street parking in Triq il-Kannizzara from corner with Triq Birbal up to corner with Triq il-Ferrovija l-Qadima will not be permitted
On street parking [first three bays from corner] will not be permitted along Triq il-Kbira corner with Triq San Frangisk and along both sides of Triq San Frangisk c/w Triq il-Kbira
Vehicular traffic from Triq B’Kara in the direction towards Triq Birbal will either be diverted to Vjal de Paule, Triq il Ferrovija il-Qadima, Triq il- Kannizzata and Triq Birbal or to Triq il- Kbira Balzan or to Trqi il-Kannizzata, Triq il-Ferrovia l-Qadima, Vjal De Paule and Triq B’Kara.
Public Transport will remain unaffected.

193 Anniversary of Malta Police Force
|
As part of the celebrations to mark the 193rd Anniversary since the establishment of the Malta Police Force, on Sunday, 1st July 2007 at 8.30pm, the Police Band, the Precision Drill Team and the Dog Section will give a show at Balzan Square. The Cavalry Section will be present as a special attraction for very small children.
Everyone is welcome to attend this special activity.

Lelja Balzanija 2007
|
Lejla Balzanija will be organized once again this year, on Friday, 29th June 2007 between 7.00pm and 11.30pm, in Church Square.
Mary Spiteri and Renato will be the special guests. Entrance free. A variety programme which will include bingo, food and drinks will be offered to all.

Local Carnival 2008
|
The Balzan Local Council will be organizing a local carnival in the village square. Children between the ages of 7 and 12 years will be able to participate. Those interested in forming part of the dance company will also participate in the national carnival to be held in Valletta, should fill in the relative form obtainable from the local council by the 31st July 2007.
