Locality Meeting
|
The Balzan Local Council will be holding it's Annual Meeting as provided by the Local Council's Act XV of 1993, at Aurora Hall in Main Street. Further details will be given in the near future.
During the meeting the public will have the opportunity to forward suggestions for the budget of the financial year 2006/07.

Petizzjoni dwar Triq B. Bontadini u l-one-way?

Il-Kunsill irċieva r-risposti fir-rigward tal-mistoqsija li saret lir-residenti ta’ Triq B. Bontadini u l-arja tal-madwar jekk Triq B. Bontadini għandiex issir one-way ħruġ lejn Triq P. P. Castagna. B'kollox tqassmu 82 petizzjoni li minnhom ġew lura 9 b’risposta iva u 18 b'risposta le.
Il-Kunsill iddeċieda li jħalli kollox kif inhu fiċ-ċirkostanzi imma ser jitlob lill-Autorized Officer biex jinsisti li l-gwardjan lokali li jkun hemm fuq il-post jinforza l-liġi fir-rigward tal-coaches li jipparkjaw f’nofs it-triq.

Problemi ta' flow ta' traffiku fi Triq Qarcilla

Wara li l-Kunsill ghamel talba biex ir-residenti jaghtu l-opinjoni taghhom dwar it-traffiku fi Triq Qarċilla bejn Triq San Frangisk u Triq il-Kannizzata, il-Kunsill ircieva risposti li gejjin:
5 qalu li jaqblu li t-triq issir oneway fid-direzzjoni lejn Triq il-Kannizzata, 1 qal li ghandha tkun fid-direzzjoni lejn Triq San Frangisk filwaqt li 2 qalu li ma jaqblux li ssir oneway.
Dwar il-parking fi Triq il-Qarcilla r-residenti rrispondew li gej:
3 qalu li l-parking ghandu jkun fuq in-naha tax-xellug tat-triq meta thares lejn Triq il-Kannizzata u 1 qal fuq in-naha tal-lemin, 2 qalu li parti jsir fuq ix-xellug u parti fuq il-lemin.
Peres li ma kienx hemm qbil unanimu jew maggoranza cara l-Kunsill iddecieda li jhalli kollox kif inhu. Residenzi hemm 12 fi Triq il-Qarcilla.

Young people of the North and South Mediterranean Area portrait themselves
COMPETITION FOR YOUNG PHOTOGRAPHERS
Concerning the project called “Crossing Glances”, a competition is instituted for talented photographers under 30 years old, who are citizens or residents of the Mediterranean region. The aim of the project is to promote the international photographic research, to identify the most promising experiences and to organize important moments for intercultural reflection and exchange.
Subject of the competition
The subject of the project can be summarized in the phrase “to observe, to know, to be observed and to tell about one’s own world”. Participants should, through their artwork, describe themselves and people of their age, meeting places, shared and/or individual moments, the social realities of their life, the difficulties their countries are going through , tensions, or any other enjoyable or moving moments of their lives. The work should express the photographer's own expectations and fears, hopes and disappointments, enthusiasms and desire of changes.
Material should be sent in a single package or envelope (by mail or carrier) no later than the 31st January 2006 (postmarked deadline) to:

A St. Valentine's Day activity will be held on Tuesday, 14th February 2006 at 7.00pm, at Aurora Hall. Claudette Pace will be the special guest. Tickets from Radio Valentine Balzan or from the Parish Sacristy. The variety programme will include a buffet.
