Public Meeting with regards to Traffic Management
|
The Balzan Locali Council will be holding a public meeting on Friday, 18th November 2005 at 7.30pm for all residents to consult them with regards to a proposal being considered for the implementation of traffic management between Guze Bonnici Street and Balzan Valley.
The meeting will be held at Aurora Hall in Main Street, Balzan.
The details of the proposal may be viewed on this site in the News Archive on page 11.

MyWeb Applications
|
MyWeb is a course organized by the eMalta Commission and the Ministry for Education, intended to give training to the general public in the use of internet and email so as to be able to communicate through the use of modern information technology.
The course duration is of 20 hours practical tuition.
The next course will start in December 2005.

First Aid Training to the general public
|
FIRST AID Courses By the Malta Red Cross Society
The Malta Red Cross Society, due to the increasing demand from the general public, will be holding courses in Basic First Aid in the coming months. These courses will be held both in English and in Maltese.
The dates of the coming course will be delivered in Maltese Language in the mornings as follows: 12th,16th, 20th, 23rd September, Time: 17.30 – 21.00hrs.
Registration for the Basic First Aid Courses will be accepted at headquarters in the mornings. All courses are recognised locally according to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, First Aid Regulations of 2002. Our certificates also carry European Certification under the European Red Cross Standards on First Aid.

Courses in basic Maltese literacy
|
The Youth Section, within the Ministry of Education, Youth and Employment, in collaboration with the Department of Further Studies and Adult Education is offering a new opportunity for young people who lack basic skills in reading and writing in Maltese.
Courses in basic Maltese literacy will be offered free of charge to the interested young people between the age of 16 and 30 years. These courses will be held in the evening, at the convenience of the hosting youth organization and according to the needs of the participants. All those youth groups and organisations, who view the need of such literacy course in their community, are kindly requested to send an e-mail or a letter expressing their interest to the undersigned.
The courses will have an innovative approach and they are specifically designed for young people; the content will be tailor made to the needs of the particular group (which can be even of just four persons). Request for course in English Language reading and writing skills might also be considered.
Courses will be held twice weekly and be of one and a half hours duration. It is envisaged that courses start in October and end in May. A certificate will be awarded at the end of the course.
Applications will be received up to the 19th September 2005.

Id-Divizjoni tas-Saħħa waslulha diversi rapporti li tobba u spizjara qed jieħdu ordnijiet bil-quddiem għall-mediċini kontra l-virus tal-pandemija kif ukoll għall-vaċċin kontra din l-istess marda.
Id-Divizjoni tas-Saħħa tavża lill-pubbliku li fil-preparamenti li qed isiru għall-eventwalita' li jkun hawn pandemija, il-Gvern diġa' ordna vaċċini u mediċini bizzejjed biex ikopru l-ħtiġijiet tal-poplu.
Id-Divizjoni tavza ukoll li l-mediċini għandhom jittieħdu biss fuq ordni tat-tabib wara li jkun konfermat li l-individwu jkun qed ibati mill-influwenza pandemika u mhux bħala prekawzjoni. Jista' jkun ta' ħsara jekk il-mediċini jittieħdu biex wieħed jilqa' kontra l-influwenza.
Id-Divizjoni tfakkar li huwa kontra l-liġi li tobba jbiegħu b'mod dirett mediċini lill-pazjenti. Huwa daqstant kontra l-liġi li spizjara jordnaw u jfornu jew jamministraw mediċini u vaċċini kontra l-virus mingħajr riċetta ta' tabib.
