Un/loading Bays near shops
|
Permits for a number of un/loading bays were approved by the Malta Transport Authority, these include one near "Greenacres" and the "Fish Shop" in Balzan Valley, one near St. George's Store in St. Francis Street and one near "Queen's Store" in Main Street.
The un/loading bays are for communal use, timed covering the opening hours of the shops and may be utilized for normal parking by residents when shops are closed.

Road Markings being refreshed
|
Road markings around the locality are currently being refreshed.
Residents are asked to co-operate and remove their cars so that the work is completed in the shortest possible time.

Sisner Street
|
Residents of Sisner Street were consulted regarding a proposal to turn the street into a one-way street, direction towards St. Valentine Street. The greater majority of residents 7 households as opposed to 3 responded that they do not agree with the proposal.
The Council discussed the proposal and replies received during the meeting held on Wednesday, 1st June 2005 and unanimously decided against making Sisner Street a one-way street.

Child Abuse
|
The Social Issues Committee of the National Council of Women is holding a talk on “Child Abuse and Children under Care Orders” by Ms Carmen Zammit, Homes Director of Residential Facilities, at the NCW Centre, Blata l-Bajda, on Wednesday, 1st June at 5.30 p.m.
Ms Zammit will talk about cases where children are at risk of abuse, the social background from which they hail, the causes of such abuse, and the resources available to assist children at risk of abuse.
This talk is part of a programme of activities under the theme “Children at Risk” selected by the Social Issues Committee for 2005.
All members of the Council and the general public are invited to attend.

Large area patching in St. Francis Street
|
 Large area patching was carried out by our contractor Polidano Group Ltd in St. Francis Street between Main Street and Dr. Zammit Street. The cost of works carried out amounted to Lm384.43.
