Civil Protection Open Day

The Civil Protection Directorate will be organizing "Civil Protection Open Day' on Saturday, 16th April 2005 between 1.00pm and 5.00pm at the Hal Far Fire Station.

Recycle used stamps for RNIB
|
Donate your unwanted foreign and Maltese stamps to RNIB.
The Balzan Local Council is collecting used postage stamps for donating to the Royal National Institute of the Blind!
We can raise money from both Maltese and foreign stamps.
Stamps are sorted by volunteers into categories and then sold to dealers or collectors. They are mostly sold by weight, if we can identify any valuable stamps they can be sold for a higher price. As a general guideline RNIB can expect to receive 90p or £1 for a pound weight of stamps.
Instructions: Please leave approximately 1cm of envelope with each stamp and deposit them at the Balzan Local Council Office from where they will be picked up by a volunteer who will clean them and send them to:

Ist Council Meeting of the Fifth Council

The First Council meeting of the Fifth Council is to be held on Wednesday, 6th April 2005 at 3.30pm in the Hall at the Local Council premises, 153 Main Street, Balzan.
The Agenda includes the Acceptance of the Office of Mayor and Deputy Mayor and the election of Committees.

Art exhibition at MUSKA in Main Street
|
An Art exhibition is presently being held at MUSKA, 24 Main Street, Balzan - Tel 21445556/99427444.
Opening hours: 9.00 to 12.00 and 4.00 to 7.00
Exhibiting Artists are: Ray Azzopardi, Celia Borg Cardona, Ben Borg Cardona, Anna Galea and Kenneth Zammit Tabona.
The exhibition will be on until Saturday, 30th April 2005.

Lost dog
|

If anyone has lost a dog please contact the Balzan Local Council on 21442323. A dog was found in Idmejda Street Balzan last Tuesday (22nd March 2005).
