Sub-committees
|
The outing council would like to thank all members of the sub-committees who gave their time and energy to the locality of Balzan over the past three years.
The term of office of the sub-committee members, according to the Local Council's Act will automatically be terminated with the termination of the present council legislature, on the 31st March 2005.
Balzan residents who are interested in being members of a sub-committee should indicate their willingness to participate by writing to the Balzan Local Council indictating their area of the interest, as soon as possible.
The chairperson of a sub-committee is a councillor of the locality.

Welcome to the New Councillors
|
The new councillors elected to take office as from 1st April 2005 are: Dr. J. Zammit Montebello, Mr. John Mary Galea, Dr. A. Vella, Mr. Tancred Mifsud and Mr. Paul Carachi.
The first meeting of the new council will be held during April 2005.

Gieh Hal Balzan
|
The Honour, Gieh Hal Balzan for the year 2005 has been awarded to Mons. Rev. Fr. John Dimech for his dedication and work on the book of the History of Balzan, entitled Hal Balzan, published and launched during the Jum Hal Balzan activities for the year 2004.
The Honour will be presented at Aurora Hall, after the concert to be held commemorating Balzan Day on the 2nd April 2005.

Courses in Arts, Crafts and Music
|
The Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce will be organizing another TERM of arts, crafts and music courses between the months of April and June 2005. The Courses will be held between 09.00hrs and 12.00hrs, and between 16.30hrs and 19.30hrs at Palazzo De La Salle, Republic Street, Valletta.
The APPLICATION and INFORMATION FORM are available from the Local Council office, during normal office hours.

YOUNG MUSICIANS CONTEST
|
The Sixth Young Musicians Contest organised by the Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce will be held on the 27th and the 29th April for the STRING INSTRUMENTS CATEGORY and the KEYBOARDS CATEGORY, and classified as MATURE and PROMISING.
Copies of the rules and regulations as well application forms may be obtained from The Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce at Palazzo De La Salle, 219, Republic Street, Valletta or by browsing the Society’s web site www.artsmalta.org or by e-mail msoamc@maltanet.net . (Tel: 21244339, Fax: 21246074).
Applications accompanied with the music, photocopy of ID Card and the registration fee of Lm4 should reach The Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce at the address mentioned above by not later than NOON of Friday, 8th April 2005.
