Rumble Strips

On Monday, 24th January 2005 rumble strips were installed in front of Aurora Hall, near St. Mary Statue and near the junction with St. Mary Street. This measure is intended to slow down traffic along Main Street.

Re-instatement of pavements
|
Pavements in Balzan Valley (in front of the cemetery) and in Mdina Road between St. Francis Street and P. P. Castagna Street have been re-instated.
Pavements in Qarcilla Street between St. Francis Street and Kannizzata Street will be re-instated shortly. The road is to be resurfaced and household water services are to be replaced.
Residents are requested to make sure that they have an earth electrode installed before the household service is replaced.

Microsoft Student Software Initiative
|
Between Monday 24th and Friday, 25th February 2005, during office hours:
Monday – Friday: 8.30am - 12.00noon and on
Monday and Wednesday: 3.30pm and 4.30pm
the Balzan Local Council will be accepting registrations and payments for the Microsoft package Lm13.99 in cash, which consist of Office Professional 2003, Visual Studio.Net Professional, Encarta Reference Library and the Class Server licence.
Students under 18 years have to be accompanied by a parent who shall present his identity card and the birth certificate of the student.
Students over 18 years shall present the student card, Identity card or a letter from the school.
Representatives of 'over 18' students are to present evidence that the application is for a student - a letter from the university together with a letter signed by the student, enpowering the holder to apply for the package.
A receipt will be issued for each package which shall be retained for presentation when picking up the package from Maltapost branches.
A letter will be sent in due course, notifying the pickup date and place.

St. Valentine's Day
|
Radio Valentine Balzan together with the Education, Social Policy and Youth subcommittee of the Balzan Local Council invite all Balzan residents to the St. Valentine's Day celebrations on the 14th February 2005 at 7.30pm, at Aurora Hall.
A Special Buffet and variety show which includes BENNY and TONIA will highlight the evening. Entrance contribution: Adults Lm3 Children Lm2. For further details call 7948 8365.

Locality Meeting
|
The Balzan Local Council will be holding it's Annual Meeting as provided by the Local Council's Act XV of 1993,at the Aurora Hall, Main Street on Friday, 4th February 2005 at 7.30pm.
During the meeting the public will have the opportunity to forward suggestions for the budget of the financial year 2005/06
