Socjeta tad-Duttrina Nisranija- M.U.S.E.U.M Balzan

Religious Society known as M.U.S.E.U.M. Founded by Rev. Dun Gorg Preca in 1907 with a mission of spreading Christian teachings amongst the young and old sections of the Maltese community.

In Balzan this section was founded in 1923. This year the society celebrates its 80th anniversary.

Activities:

All year round- Cathecism for boys age 5-16 years
Participation in Parish activites: Feast activities, processions, and ceremonies.

Gimgha ta’ Taghlim- a week dedicated to the spread of the Christian teachings.

9th May- Special mass held in honour of Rev. Gorg Preca
Last week of May- Our Lady Procession
September- Sports Week for Children
24th December Baby Jesus demonstration

Other Activities:

Outings, hikes and other recreational activities for children
Talks for parents, boys and youths.

The main function of this section is to give a good religious education to girls, youths and adults. Activities are similar to those organised by the male section of the Society.

Activities

Educational talks contributing to the emotional and spiritual development of the youth section of the community.

Preteens: (12-14yrs of age) Wednesdays 6.30p.m.
Teenagers: (14-17yrs of age) Wednesdays 8.00p.m.
Over 18s Mondays 8.30p.m.

Social and recreational activities.

Balzan youth Centre also organises social and recreational activities such as hikes, outings, sport and philantropic activities.

Youth Centre is also open on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
